WoodSkin is a fascinating new composite material that looks like lovely patterned wood, but moves with the flexibility of a sheet blowing in the breeze. Its plastic nature allows it to function as a stylish, organic-looking skin for projects that might otherwise be built with standard, flat materials.

Coda is a unique car company. Instead of relying on gasoline combustion engines, this young corporation makes just one all-electric car and sells it at one price.

As a newcomer to the field, Coda wasn't burdened by an infrastructure of dealerships or traditional sales models. They asked Ziba, a design firm based in Portland, Oregon, to help them figure out how to best sell their cars.

Doing so would require more than just designing a showroom, and that presented a bigger opportunity. As part of the design process, Ziba had the chance to help shape the Coda brand and the experience of buying a Coda car.

Portable housing for disaster relief often requires a time-consuming setup process and can be difficult to transport. AbleNook provides an attractive, well-designed solution to this problem.

Units can be delivered flat-packed—efficiently, in bulk, like Ikea furniture—and can be assembled with no tools in about two hours. The units are insulated, come prewired for electricity, can be reused, and sit on legs that adjust to uneven ground.

The Spiral Wine Cellar is a watertight, pre-cast cylindrical system that is sunken into the ground. It can be installed into an existing ground floor room or incorporated into an extension or new property.
